"the comic was an extension of a piece I did for the first of the ICA Comica events, there was an entire wall of intersecting comicstrips, running from a spine story by Tom Gauld (now with the Guardian,) my strip intersected with a Gary Northfield (now with the Beano)...My story is mostly either read as pretty damn depressing, or a paen to the indomitability of the human spirit. Description:
Comic illustrating Carolines friends, in all their macabre glory. The title is a pun on the popular French children's tales (43 in all) Caroline et ses amis, by Pierre Probst dating from 1953, about a young girl and her band of friends including cats and dogs. In this version the friends are grusome and twisted. 

Le Dernier Cri Collective.
French publisher specialising in rather disturbing serigraphs and comics with a very low print run. Based in Marseilles, Bolino and Sury run a silkscreening studio from which they’ve produced, through painstaking handmade effort, a decade’s worth of books, comics, monographs, print-medium objets d’art and their flagship magazine 'Hopital Brut'.

Description:
"One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in bed he had been changed into a monstrous verminous bug..."
Book based on the sequence of events described in Kafka's short, unhappy tale of a man who, upon waking, has changed into a bug. The dark pages mirror the downbeat tale but a packet of yellow stickers are provided so the reader can brighten-up the pages, if required.
